Nancy Barbash—Owner
I have always believed in the power of movement; my passion is to help people move better.
I have been an ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 1994. I started my career right out of college, having studied Physical Education at Hunter College in New York City. In just a few short years, I built a successful training business, developing fitness and nutrition programs for over 300 clients.
My experience includes helping clients with a variety of conditions such as pregnancy, spinal and joint issues and those trying to achieve a higher level of fitness. I have also worked with clients recovering from injuries, illness and stroke.
I have completed specialized training in lower back disorders (focusing on prevention and rehabilitation) and kinetic anatomy (a study of how the human body is constructed and how it moves), among others. I also hold specialty certifications in Fitness Nutrition and Orthopedic Rehabilitation.
Over the course of my career, I noticed one glaring issue: women’s health and fitness wasn’t given the attention it deserves. In fact training for women was often treated the same as for men, despite a host of differences. In response to this unmet need, I became more focused on improving women’s bodies as they age. I studied and completed a course in Menopause coaching and my new career path was formed.
Let’s together change the narrative and focus on what we gain as we age, not what we lose.
